Palmwoods groups organise Clean Up Day March 7
The Palmwoods community is banding together to organise another Clean-up Palmwoods event aligned with the National Australia Clean-up Day on March 7.
“Claire Evans has been doing this for a while with the Palmwoods Scouts Group,” said Leigh Martinuzzi from Martinuzzi Property Group.
“As a local resident I decided to help Claire expand this initiative to get more of the community involved and more of Palmwoods cleaned up. Last year we invited a few additional community members to help organise and host the event. It was a great day.
“So Claire and myself along with the Palmwoods Community & Business Association, Warriors Soccer Club and Sarah Wright from the Homegrown Café are at it again. We want to continue this event as the community seem to love it. This year we hope to make it bigger and better. “
Warriors Soccer Club will once again be hosting a barbecue to help support their club. Local businesses donate prizes for the event and there is a Find a Flag Prize Giveaway. Kids that attend on the day will also get a lolly bag. What’s more, Palmwoods Scouts collect all the cans and bottles to help fund their group too. “Kids really do enjoy getting out there and helping,” said Leigh.
